The Role Real Madrid is Playing in Karim Benzema’s Recovery

Former Real Madrid player Karim Benzema is currently facing a challenging recovery from a recurring injury, and his current club, Al Ittihad, has confirmed that Real Madrid is actively involved in assisting him during this period. This news came to light on Thursday, shedding light on the continuous struggles that Benzema, who is 36 years old, has been facing with muscular problems since joining the Saudi Pro League club last summer.

According to Al Ittihad’s official statement, Benzema is currently undergoing examinations at Real Madrid’s clinic, under the care of his former doctor in Spain. This doctor has previously supervised Benzema’s medical care, making him familiar with the player’s health history. The consultations were coordinated between Ittihad’s medical staff and Real Madrid to address the injuries that have sidelined Benzema for crucial matches throughout the season. As a result, Benzema has traveled back to Spain for these medical assessments and is expected to rejoin his team next week.

Despite his injury setbacks, Benzema has managed to score 13 goals in 29 appearances for Al Ittihad across all competitions. The French forward, who was awarded the prestigious 2022 Ballon d’Or, is contracted with the club until June 2026, showcasing his commitment to the team. Real Madrid, on the other hand, has been focusing on nurturing young talent within their ranks, exemplified by their recent contract extension for Enzo Alves, the son of club legend Marcelo.

Enzo Alves, a promising 14-year-old forward, has been a part of Real Madrid’s academy setup since 2017, demonstrating his growth and potential within the club. His impressive performance for the under-15 side, where he scored 17 goals this season, has earned him a one-year contract extension that will keep him at the club until June 2027. As a Spain U15 player, Enzo expressed his excitement about the extension, labeling Real Madrid as the “best club in the world” in a social media post. His father, Marcelo, also took to Instagram to congratulate his son on this milestone, highlighting the family’s bond with the club.

Real Madrid’s proactive involvement in supporting both current and former players like Karim Benzema and Enzo Alves underscores the club’s commitment to player welfare and development at all levels. By leveraging their medical expertise and nurturing young talent, Real Madrid continues to uphold its legacy as a powerhouse in the footballing world.
