Manchester United’s Striker Targets for the Summer Transfer Window

Manchester United is actively seeking to bolster their squad with a new striker following the departure of Anthony Martial. The club has compiled a list of potential targets, which includes Ivan Toney, Jonathan David, and Joshua Zirkzee. These players have caught the attention of United as they look to add more firepower to their frontline.

Ivan Toney and Jonathan David are two strikers who have piqued United’s interest due to their impending contract situations. Toney, who currently plays for Brentford, is entering the final year of his contract and is attracting interest from the Red Devils. Similarly, Jonathan David of Lille is also approaching the final year of his deal, making him a viable option for United’s attack.

Joshua Zirkzee, who had a successful season with Bologna, scoring 12 goals in 37 games, is another player on United’s radar. The 23-year-old striker, who previously spent time at Bayern Munich, has a release clause of £34 million in his contract. With other clubs eyeing Zirkzee, United will face competition in securing his services for the upcoming season.

Apart from Toney, David, and Zirkzee, Manchester United has also been monitoring Benjamin Sesko and Brian Brobbey. However, Sesko has opted to extend his contract with RB Leipzig, leaving United to focus on other targets. Brian Brobbey has also garnered interest, primarily driven by Erik ten Hag, whose future at United remains uncertain.

In addition to acquiring a new striker, Manchester United is looking to strengthen their defense by bringing in a center-back. Jarrad Branthwaite of Everton has emerged as a top target for the club, with Everton valuing the 21-year-old at around £75 million. The recruitment department is keen on securing defensive reinforcements to complement their attacking additions.

Overall, Manchester United’s pursuit of new strikers and defensive options signals their ambition to strengthen the squad and compete at the highest level. As the summer transfer window progresses, it will be interesting to see which players the club ultimately secures to bolster their lineup.
